About the book: 1958 / In the Pacific Ocean, north of the equator, there is a group of coral atolls called Bikini. In 1954, the Americans tested hydrogen weapons on one of them. At the time of the explosion, a Japanese fishing schooner accidentally happened to be near the test site. The story “Bikini Ashes” tells how the hydrogen bomb was tested and what happened to the Japanese fishermen. The events and people described in it are real. Only the names of the characters have been changed.
