About the book: 2024 / For more than two centuries, the debate has continued about whether there was a chronicle path in reality. But as a rule, the essence of the discussion comes down to the problem of Normanism and anti-Normanism. In the presented work, based on hydro- and climatological data, chronicle reports and European chronicles, archaeological and paleographic research, in strict accordance with the text of the chronicles, an attempt was made to explore the chronicle path. As a result, it was substantiated that the chronicle path did not exist in the 8th and 9th centuries, but the chronicle path could have existed already from the second half of the 10th century and throughout the entire period of climate humidification.
