About the book: 2011 / For today's Christians, the despair of the two disciples who left Jerusalem after the crucifixion of Christ reflects many aspects of the post-Christian context. However, this story also resonates with the experience of modern humanists, who have their own reasons for doubt, and with the experiences of many Muslims who are also ready to enter into dialogue with us on the road to Emmaus. Each chapter of this book reflects one aspect of this biblical story and ends with a “message from the road to Emmaus”, in which world-famous authors - Albert Camus, Jacques Ellul, Tatiana Goricheva and Edith Black - share their thoughts on the topic under discussion. The result is a lively dialogue between faith and unbelief, reflecting both real despair and renewed hope.
