About the book: 1980 / Mirmukhsin (Mirsaidov Mirmukhsin) is a prominent Uzbek prose writer and poet. In Moscow, over the years, several of his poetry collections were published in Russian, the poems “Fergana Spring” (1951), “Master Giyas” (1952), “Green Village” (1953), the novel in verse “Ziyad and Adbiba” (1961) . The writer became widely famous for his novels and stories published by the publishing house "Soviet Writer": "Djamilya" (1963), "White Marble" (1964), "Hardening" (1968), "Umid" (1972), "Son of the Foundry Worker" ( 1976), “The Architect” (1978). For the novel “Umid” the author was awarded the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR named after Hamza. “Son of a Foundry Worker” is a book about a glorious working dynasty. This novel received the prize of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions and the Union of Writers of the USSR as the best work of fiction about the modern working class (1978). In the new novel “Chatkal Tiger,” the author paints a panorama of the grandiose construction of the Charvak hydroelectric power station and reservoir in the mountainous region of Uzbekistan. With great warmth, he talks about the selfless builders, their determination and ability to overcome difficulties. The main character of the novel is engineer Karadzhan Mingbaev, a former front-line soldier, who now heads the responsible section of work on the dam.
