The action takes place in the sultry desert of the Southern Republic, where units of irreconcilable opposition to the regime shot down a Russian military transport plane and are holding the flight crew hostage. To free the aviators - this is the task assigned to the commander of the special forces unit, Major Amelin, and a group of his fighters. The task is not an easy one, since the hostages are in the hands of militants for whom laws are not written... In the forest near Vyazma, in the Smolensk region, the corpse of a Bulgarian citizen Rachev was discovered. A district-scale detective, Major Fidineev, is involved in the investigation of the murder, not suspecting that he will find himself in the very center of the international detective triangle, which consists of the criminal structures of Russia, Bulgaria and Latvia.
