About the book: year / "The auditorium of the Burgundy Hotel in 1640. A sort of ball-shed, adapted and furnished for theatrical performances. The hall is rectangular in shape. One of its sides constitutes the back set, which extends diagonally from the front right corner to the back left corner and forms an angle with the stage, which we see in section. On the stage, along the wings, there are benches placed on both sides. The curtain consists of two sliding panels. Above the main curtain is the royal coat of arms. People descend from the stage into the hall along wide steps. On both sides of these steps there are places for violinists. Ramp made of tallow candles. Two tiers of side galleries; the upper one is divided into lodges. There are no seats in the stalls, which is where the action takes place. In the depths of it, that is, on the right, in the foreground, there are several benches along a ladder, and further, under the staircase that leads to the upper places (the audience can only see its lower steps), there is a buffet lined with candelabra, vases of flowers, crystal glasses, bottles, plates with cakes, etc. In the back, in the middle, under the gallery with boxes, is the entrance to the theater. A large door that constantly opens to let spectators in. On the door wings, in the corners and above the sideboard there are red posters with the words “Cloriza” printed on them.
