About the book: 2019 / 1475. A young aristocrat named Ilona Szilágyi, widowed several years ago, receives an unusual proposal from her cousin, the Hungarian King Matthias I. She is asked to marry Ladislaus Dracula of Wallachia, “that same Dracula,” so that Matthias can conclude a political and military alliance with this man against the Turks. The notoriety of Dracula is still with him and the number of terrible stories “about the monster and the tyrant” continues to grow, but Ilona still agrees, wanting to help Christians defeat their common enemy. Despite the promises of her relatives not to offend her if anything happens, she prepares to sacrifice herself, but the marriage turns out to be completely different from what was expected. The book is the final part of the series of works about Prince Vlad III the Impaler, which also includes the novels “The Time of the Dragon”, “The Dragon Feast” and “The Wallachian Dragon”, previously published in the same series.
