About the book: year / To many eyewitnesses, Leningrad, which survived the siege of death, it seemed like a different, new city that had undergone critical changes, and these changes needed to be depicted and comprehended by contemporaries. While the blockade period itself is now receiving considerable attention from researchers, not much is said about the city at the moment when it became clear that the blockade had been survived and Leningrad would face a period after the blockade, a period of restoration and awareness of what had happened, a period of long farewell to those who survived the disaster. The collection is devoted to the study of the post-siege time in culture and history; its participants ask questions: how were the appearance of the post-siege city and everyday life in this city perceived and depicted by contemporaries? How did this image differ in censored and uncensored culture? How did this image differ in the texts of the siege survivors and those who were not in the siege? The siege after is a subjectively perceived experienced moment and a way of representing it, but also a whole period of consequences, an entire era: after all, there is a way to consider everything that happened in the city after the siege as its result.
