About the book: 2019 / Book "A Gift to the Princess. Christmas Stories” is one of those by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya that were written in anticipation of happiness. Her example, her favorite childhood writer, was Charles Dickens, the author of the touching story “The Cricket on the Stove.” All of old Moscow then went to this Moscow Art Theater performance with great actors in order to shed tears of happiness at the end. Actually, the stories in this book—let’s not hide it—were written for the same purpose. I really want joy, I really want justice, rewards for ordinary people - and even for poor and not very happy princesses, artists and future brides in general. And it’s a great relief that this is possible in literature. May all readers be happy.
