About the book: 1964 / Seyfeddin Daghly is a modern Azerbaijani satirist writer. He penned the novel “Son of Spring,” satirical stories, short stories and comedies touching on important social, moral and ethical themes. This book includes the satirical ballad “Nogtalarov’s Career,” written in a lively and sharp grotesque manner. It creates a vivid type of a complete, narcissistic bureaucrat and ignorant Vergulyagi Nogtalarov (in Russian - “Comma Aga Ellipses”). In the satirical stories included in the book, the author ridicules the remnants of philistinism, private property psychology, exposes parasites and dudes, grabbers and quitters, careerists and sycophants. The satirical ballad and the writer’s stories are truly topical, ridiculing what is inert and outdated in our reality.
