About the book: 2018 / The book by the Lithuanian writer and journalist Ruta Vanagaite, written with the participation of Efraim Zuroff, was published in 2016, in the year of the 75th anniversary of the tragic events of 1941, when almost all Jews in Lithuania were exterminated. In total, about 200 thousand Jews died in Lithuania between 1941 and 1944. There are 227 massacre sites in Lithuanian forests. The book contains documents of that time, testimonies of people who participated in the executions. Vanagaite, with the famous Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff, goes on a journey to the places where Jews were killed and communicates with surviving eyewitnesses of those events.
