As the story progresses, Jordan ends up in prison due to strange circumstances and the plot switches to Police Inspector Galbraith, who witnesses an accident in the Jons family, which ultimately leads to Delia's death. Next, Galbraith flies to London to catch the child’s killer, but he couldn’t even imagine in his wildest dreams what his search would ultimately lead to. Author’s notes: I conceived my work as a kind of literary experiment. According to my plan, the reader should first perceive what is happening in the work as an ordinary love drama, and only at the end, when in a traditional horror film there is usually a general clarification, accompanied by a natural loss of interest, my plot should have made a sudden somersault, when one story ends and a completely different one begins . Without undue modesty, I will say that the idea was good, but the experiment failed. I felt it as soon as I wrote the last two words that conclude the piece, but I couldn’t do anything about it. Don't rewrite a hundred thousand words again. And, most importantly, it wasn’t that I didn’t try or that I messed up. You can’t break the canons of horror films the way I allowed myself to do. The experiment failed because it could not succeed. Never, without any effort or tricks. And I could only console myself with the thought that this reading, as it seemed to me, would be interesting to you, dear readers.
