About the book: 2014 / Russian troops entered the Austrian Lvov in August 1914, less than a month after the start of the Great War. The incredible success of Russian weapons was made possible thanks to a number of factors that made it possible to win one of the greatest battles of the First World War. The Battle of Galicia is practically forgotten today, for obvious political reasons. During this battle, Russia for the first time incorporated into the country the territory of Eastern Galicia, which we know today as Western Ukraine. The meticulous research of Alexander Bely literally reconstructs the details of this operation hour by hour. Alexander Sergeevich Bely (1882 - 1938) - Russian and Soviet military leader, military historian, brigade commander. He took direct part in the battles near Lvov and became the author of a number of works devoted to the actions of the Russian army in the First World War. A. Beloy became a victim of Stalinist repressions, and his works were banned. This is the first reprint of the book since 1929.
