About the book: 2010 / Russia had rich military traditions. Proof of this is the state’s ability to constantly withstand the onslaught of numerous neighbors - the Khazars, Pechenegs, Polovtsians, German knights, Lithuanians, Poles, Swedes, French, and Germans. For many centuries, Rus'—Russia—conquered and asserted its authority on the battlefields. Starting from the early Middle Ages, pressed from the west and south, the Russian people moved east and north, occupying, conquering new lands and defending themselves. Their life passed in continuous heroic struggle. At the very forefront of this movement were warriors who had their own ancient military traditions of survival in conditions of brutal war.
