This book is about the journey that many of us have to go through. The five largest countries formed in 1991 are Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan. Of these, in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, since 1991, power has not changed at all; in Belarus, it changed last time in 1994 (22 years of rule at the time of writing), in Russia - in 2000 (except for Medvedev ). But people are mortal. And no matter how good someone is, sooner or later his earthly journey ends. So what then? What will happen to a society in which the skills of legal political struggle have atrophied - but too many contenders have finally waited in the wings? What will happen to a society in which there are those who want everything the same and those who want everything new - and nothing in between??
