About the book: 2000 / The book includes articles and essays by the famous literary historian Leonid Grossman, previously published as part of three collections: "From Pushkin to Blok: Etudes and portraits" (1926), "The Struggle for Style: Experiments in Criticism and Poetics" (1927) and "The Pen Workshop: Articles on Literature" (1930). Studying the individual style of the writer, Grossman pays close attention not only to texts, but also to biographical facts , psychological characteristics of the individual, the writer’s worldview, the patterns of his interaction with socio-political circumstances.
