MediaDB / «Science and religion about mental activity" Nikolay Mansurov: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1960 / FROM THE PUBLISHING HOUSE Does a person have a “soul”? How to explain those “mysterious” and “miraculous” phenomena that are narrated in church books and to which believers often refer, for example, “miraculous” healings? Why can't people go without sleep for a long time and dream? What is life and death, are these states connected with the “soul”; Is it possible or not to resurrect the dead? All these and other questions that interest every person are discussed in N. S. Mansurov’s brochure “Science and Religion on Mental Activity.” Revealing the inconsistency and ignorance of the idea of the existence of a “soul” in humans, the author at the same time shows, using specific examples, the harm of religion and religious prejudices. When illustrating the brochure, the author used some drawings from the album “Science and Religion” (Gospolitizdat, 1958), the magazine “Science and Life” for 1956 and D. Biryukov’s book “The Myth of the Soul”. The brochure is intended for the general reader.
