About the book: 2008 / Walking around St. Petersburg allows you to look at the city with completely different eyes, to see majestic buildings in a different light and perspective architectural monuments, palaces, houses in which famous people, historical figures, literary heroes lived. The series of miniature books “Pushkin’s Petersburg” will help those who wish to take such an educational walk. These books introduce you to the houses where not only the poet himself lived, but also his relatives, friends, colleagues, publishers and other famous contemporaries. The first three books in this series were written by one author, Nina Konstantinovna Malkova, honorary chairman of the oldest Pushkin Club in the city, which celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in 2007. These books are: “When outside the city, thoughtful, I wander ...” (1st ed., 1999; 2nd ed., 2003), “With Pushkin along Bolshaya Morskaya” (2002) and “Along the Busy Shores...” (2006). The fourth book offered to the reader, “In My Friendly Circle...”, is dedicated to the life in the capital of one of Pushkin’s close friends, fellow writer, Prince Pyotr Andreevich Vyazemsky. Of the 86 years he lived, almost 50 were associated with St. Petersburg, where he became a permanent resident in 1830. Not having his own home in the capital, he sometimes lived with relatives or rented apartments, changing them due to long absences, trips to Moscow, family estate Ostafyevo, and more often in connection with foreign voyages. This book contains only those addresses where Vyazemsky lived until the end of the 1830s, when the great poet passed away, who gave the city the epithet “Pushkin’s Petersburg”».
