About the book: year / This small but very important treatise first appeared in 1615 as “An Open Letter Containing a Brief Statement of the Fundamentals of the Philosophy of the God-Pleasant and Worthy of the Praise of the Order of the Rose and Cross." It was published "in the footsteps" of the Rosicrucian manifestos; the author of the work, no doubt a Rosicrucian, hid his real name behind the pseudonym Stefan Michelspacher. Despite the fact that a relatively large number of works similar in content were published at the beginning of the 17th century, it was Michelspacher’s “Kabala” that was destined to have a long life; Moreover, several of the most beautiful engravings that adorned numerous reprints of this treatise, starting with “Cabala, Spiegel der Kunst und Natur in Alchymia” (Tirol, 1615), played an important role in this. The depth of their symbolism and artistic level of execution are equally worthy of attention..
