MediaDB / «The Romanov Case, or the Execution that Never Happened" Tom Mangold, Anthony Summers: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2011 / Literary and artistic publication The story described in this book can be called a detective story, although it is the result of serious journalistic investigation. Dozens of books told with great conviction how the Bolsheviks shot the Royal Family in the basement of the Ipatiev House. It would seem that the version of the execution of the Royal Family has been clearly proven. However, in most of these works, the “bibliography” section mentions the book by American journalists A. Summers and T. Mangold “The file on the tsar”, published in London in 1976. Mentioned, that's all. No comments, no links. And no translations. Even the original of this book is not easy to find. Meanwhile, American journalists conducted their own investigation of the events that took place in Yekaterinburg and Perm in 1918, and came to the unexpected conclusion for the reader that the “fact of the destruction of corpses” in a clearing in the forest, which Sokolov described so colorfully in his book, - this is nothing more than a figment of his imagination. In this regard, the issue of the “royal remains” found by Sokolov in the forest and taken by him in a box to Europe became not only controversial, but also scandalous. The book in which American journalists talk about this, and not only this, has never been published in Russia; the general reader has no idea about it. More than 40 years have passed since the book by American journalists appeared. But it has not yet lost its relevance. © Senin Yu. I., authorized translation, editing and preface, 2011
