About the book: year / This is my third book published in Soviet times, but in some ways it is the first. It came out in the form in which it was intended, which cannot be said about the first two. This is an absolutely free book, the way I wrote each story - that’s how it was published. Soviet life, as it is, is the material of this book. Without any embellishment, but also without promoting “horror”, the details of everyday life are like an aesthetic category and no ideology. The modern reader of these “stories of the past year” will see that if there was anything different about that life from the present one, it was only in a different atmosphere of life creation.
