About the book: 1957 / Mountains, like oceans, hide many secrets from people. Until now, in the highest mountains of the world, the Himalayas, there are so-called white spots, i.e. places where no human has set foot, entire areas about which neither geographers nor climbers can say anything definite. Quite recently, Pobeda Peak was discovered in the Tien Shan - one of the highest peaks in the world, and we can only be surprised that for thousands of years not a single person has managed to notice this mountain before. Or perhaps our predecessors knew about the existence of this highest peak in the Heavenly Mountains? Perhaps, more than once or twice, someone managed to catch that short moment when a giant peak looked out from the clouds? The mountains are silent. They don't answer our questions. We ourselves need to turn over the yet unread pages of the giant stone book of the mountains. We must find out whether in the mountains on the line of eternal snow, where there is nothing living, where snow vultures-kumai occasionally fly, there really lives a mysterious snowman - the yeti, in whose existence even the famous Sherpa Tensing, who for the first time in the history of mankind climbed Chomolungma, believes , this king of all the peaks of the world. We still need to make sure that some unknown tribes and peoples do not live in the mysterious valleys of the Himalayas, Tien Shan and Pamirs. What if they live? What if somewhere beyond the eternal snow, in a dark, inaccessible valley, an entire state has existed for thousands of years - and we know nothing about it! What then?
