About the book: 2011 / N. M. Zorkaya (1924–2006) - a leading specialist in the history of culture, a world-famous film expert, winner of several awards in field of cinema, author of two dozen books and more than a thousand articles, reviews, and film reports. Her works and, first of all, the fundamental “History of Soviet Cinema” have been translated and published in the USA, Japan and other countries. The book contains materials related to the biography of Neya Zorka. These are memories of her, written by friends, including Mikhail Ulyanov, Alla Demidova, Inna Vishnevskaya. These are her own memories of friends, including Ilya Averbakh, Mikhail Gluzsky, Tatyana Bachelis. These are autobiographical essays, as well as some texts important for her creative development. The final section of the book is dedicated to her brothers - the famous film critic Andrei Zorky (1935–2006) and the prominent chemist Pyotr Zorky (1933–2005). The book opens to the interested reader a whole layer of life of the Moscow artistic intelligentsia of the second half of the 20th - early 21st centuries.
