He considers the birthdays of his favorite writers, artists, directors, as well as radio, the Internet and the iPhone to be personal holidays and includes them in the list of both generally accepted and bizarre celebrations. Genis does not compete with Wikipedia and carefully avoids the trivial, offering the reader a fluent but original a thought, an unexpected metaphor, an uncluttered joke, a definition that reveals the essence.
