About the book: 2011 / In 2011, Russia and Montenegro celebrate a significant date - the tricentenary of the establishment of direct interstate relations. This event took place in the era of Tsar Peter I and Metropolitan Danila, when the commonality of Russian and Montenegrin interests in the fight against Ottoman Turkey brought relations between the two fraternal Slavic peoples to a qualitatively new level. Over the centuries since then, relations between the two countries have experienced a number of dramatic changes and turns - from the fight against common enemies to mutual grievances and disappointments, and in the opposite direction. However, the peoples of the two countries were invariably connected by feelings of brotherly love and sincere sympathy. The book “Montenegrins in Russia” is a collection of scientific articles by Russian and Montenegrin researchers, which examine almost all significant pages in the history of Russian-Montenegrin relations over the past three hundred years. Particular attention is paid to the history of Montenegrins in Russia - representatives of the royal houses, clergy, military and sailors, men and women, outstanding and ordinary people. The collection is intended both for specialist historians and for everyone interested in the pages of the past of Russian-Montenegrin relations.
