Childhood spent in military camps, “suitcase life” with its constant moves from warm Ukraine to Chukotka, to Siberia and again to the army, student life with summer expeditions to the taiga, visiting monasteries and the pleasure of practicing martial arts, graduate school and journalism - shaped his character and became sources for his works.
