"Burden of Power": The novel is dedicated to the time of the reign of Ivan Kalita - one of the most important periods in the history of the creation of the Moscow state. This is the third book in the “Sovereigns of Moscow” series, preceded by the novels “The Youngest Son” and “The Great Table”. "Simeon the Proud" - the fourth novel in the "Sovereigns of Moscow" series - is a direct continuation of "The Burden of Power". The author describes the fate of the son of Ivan Kalita, who, under the difficult conditions of his reign (1341–1353), managed to consolidate his father’s state acquisitions, prevent aggression from the Principality of Lithuania, and thereby strengthen the position of the Moscow Principality as the center of Vladimir Russia. In the book “Praise to Sergius,” the writer continues the main theme of his creativity - a story about the creation of Moscow Rus'. The hero of this novel is Rostovite Bartholomew Kirillovich, monastically Sergius of Radonezh. By the will of fate, he became the center of that powerful spiritual movement that brought Vladimir Rus to the Kulikovo Field and created a new state on the ruins of Kievan Rus - Muscovite Rus.
