About the book: 2008 / "Callirhoe" - a story written in 1946 - can be considered the first draft for later works, including the novels "On the Edge Ecumene" and "Thais of Athens". The short novel "Tillotama" seems to precede "The Razor's Edge". Both works were supposed to become parts of the large novel “Beloved Beauty,” to which I. A. Efremov was going to add a Slavic part. This book was conceived as a hymn to women and art. We made minor stylistic and spelling corrections that did not affect the essence and style of I. A. Efremov’s work. Arkady Grigoriev.
