About the book: 1978 / The name of the cycle was given by the book "Wolf Nights", published in 1943, which for the first time collected stories dedicated to the animal world. In 1975, answering questions from I. Saranden’s literary questionnaire about this book, Stanev noted that he felt the need to collect the best of his animal stories in one volume in order to separate them from the rest, and that he himself determined the composition of this volume, which should be adopted as the basis for all subsequent editions. According to established tradition, the cycle “Wolf Nights” opens all collections of Stanev’s stories - even those where he is not presented in full and is not highlighted by the title - and, of course, all editions of his selected works.
