About the book: 1990 / The book for the first time presents in great detail the literary heritage of the outstanding Russian artist Konstantin Alekseevich Korovin (1861–1939). His memories of life, of his contemporaries (in particular, of Chekhov, Chaliapin, Savrasov, Vrubel, Serov, Levitan), travel essays, autobiographical stories are warmed by love for the Motherland, Russian nature and people met along the path of life. First edition (1971 ) was warmly received by readers and the press. Considering the second edition, the creators of the book - the famous scientist and collector, laureate of the USSR State Prize Ilya Samoilovich Zilberstein (1905-1988) and Vladimir Alekseevich Samkov (1924-1983) - intended to supplement it, taking into account the expressed wishes. This work was left unfinished by them. In the second edition, changes affected mainly illustrations: their number was increased (about 100), color reproductions of works by K. A. Korovin were introduced, including from the collection of I. S. Zilbershtein, which he donated to the future Museum of Private Collections, the creation of which he devoted the last years of his life.
