About the book: 2023 / There are many animals depicted on the Cup of Arcesilaus, one of the most famous examples of ancient Greek painted ceramics. Despite some convention, their species identity, at first glance, is beyond doubt. It was all the more surprising to find out how alternatively these representatives of the animal world are defined in scientific works devoted to the cup. Thanks to the Internet, with its ability to quickly find a variety of information on the topic and numerous photographs of animals from there, it is now quite easy to understand this issue.
