These four plots are no less - and in other cases more - dramatic than those that the reader encountered in the first two books of the three-volume series .In the chapter “Stalin and Sholokhov” B. Sarnov is included in the long-standing, and in recent years, disputes that have flared up with renewed vigor about who was the author of “Quiet Don”. But what interests him here is not so much this problem itself as Stalin’s attitude towards it: after all, it was Stalin who stopped all the “gossip” about plagiarism and “appointed” young Sholokhov as the author of this great book.
