About the book: 2019 / The monograph is devoted to the creation and combat use of river military flotillas in riverine theaters of military operations in the wars of Russia with Turkey, France, Japan , Germany and Austria-Hungary, which took place in the 18th - early 20th centuries. The content of the work not only corresponds to modern ideas of historical science about the issues under consideration, but also in a number of cases examines them from a different angle, which contributes to a better understanding of the problems under study. The monograph examines the rich experience of using river ships and vessels of various types and military river flotillas during wars. The work is based on information from sources published at different times, as well as from archival materials from the Russian State Archive of the Navy of the pre-revolutionary period. The monograph analyzes the military-political circumstances of the creation and maintenance of Russian river military flotillas and the tactical aspects of their use.
