The family decides to move to Siberia to start a new life, but encounter difficulties along the way and after arrival. Semyon and his children are forced to fight for survival, working for rich owners and living in poverty. Their life is gradually improving, but grief comes again - Vasilisa’s children die from various diseases. The story of the family of Semyon and Vasilisa is a chronicle of survival, perseverance and hope for a better life in the face of constant trials and changes.
