About the book: 2023 / This publication is devoted to the analysis and assessment of historical the evolution of American and generally Western geopolitical strategy, examined through the prism of the formation and development of the United States as a state. The work consists of four parts, which trace the formation of expansionist and imperialist ideas in America, the historical roots of American statehood (XVII-XIX centuries), and the spread of hegemony USA in various regions, as well as on a global scale (from the end of the 19th century to the present day). The book concludes with an analysis of the undemocratic nature of the United States, as well as the deep contradictions inherent in the political and socio-economic structure of modern America. Special attention is paid to the Russian contribution to the preservation of the statehood of the United States and a number of other Western powers, to the fight against German Nazism, Japanese militarism and attempts to revive them after 1945, as well as the role of our country in breaking down colonialism and countering neocolonial practices. The analysis presented in the book is based on based on the achievements of modern American studies and related disciplines, documentary evidence is widely used, extensive statistical data and statements of eyewitnesses and participants in historical events are provided. Special attention is paid to critical assessments of the socio-political system and course of the United States coming from prominent Western intellectuals.
