Leontiev did not specifically devote any of his printed works or manuscripts to the problem of will, this lecture is the only source that allows us to understand his views on this problem. Alexei Nikolaevich’s speech was recorded on a tape recorder, which had recently been given to him for his 75th birthday. When preparing the transcript for publication, only stylistic corrections were made, repetitions were eliminated, and clarifying questions and answers to them were omitted, which did not add anything to the main content.
