About the book: 2019 / “Our country has a complicated history,” writes the former (as he was called) in his confession "Kremlin prince" After all, the Soviet party nomenklatura of the 70s of the last century was convinced that by marrying the daughter of the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, Yuri Churbanov (1936–2013) pulled out a lucky ticket. Popular rumor was not very delicate, spreading around the world the saying “Don’t have a hundred sheep, but marry like Churbanov.” And indeed - a career rise, general's shoulder straps, access to the highest echelons of power in the USSR. And then - a demonstrative arrest, the “Uzbek-Kremlin affair”, expulsion from the party, deprivation of awards and titles, confiscation of property, trial... And - 12 years in a strict penal colony regime, where I had to think about a lot, comprehend and rethink a lot, see my own life and the life of the entire country from a different perspective. The result of these reflections was the book “I’ll tell you everything as it happened...”. And there was a lot of things: fishing with Fidel Castro and being transported in “Stolypin” cars; riveting bowls and relaxing in Crimea with the leader of a great power; humiliation of dignity and one’s own weakness, when almost 120 innocent people had to be convicted... In general, Yuri Mikhailovich is right: “Our country has a complicated history».
