The work of the well-known classic of Swedish literature, Nobel Prize winner for 1951 Per Lagerkvist (1891–1974) is represented by poems translated into Russian for the first time, in which the writer “tried to find answers to the eternal questions facing humanity.” The volume includes the stories "The Smile of Eternity" and "The Executioner", the novel "The Dwarf" and "Speech after Receiving the Nobel Prize".
