MediaDB / «The Bronze Horseman "Alexander Pushkin, Pavel Shchegolev: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1923 / The incident described in this story is based on the truth. Details are taken from magazines of that time. The curious can consult the news compiled by V.I. Berkh. * * * “Eighty-five years have passed since the creation of The Bronze Horseman, and not a single edition of his works has reproduced the text of The Bronze Horseman, which Pushkin, as we reliably know, intended for publication. And only in this edition the text of “The Bronze Horseman” appears for the first time in 85 years in the edition in which Pushkin wanted to see his “Petersburg Tale” published.” “The sight is sad and annoying. Pushkin would have been very upset if he had seen the text of “The Bronze Horseman”, which is published in all collected works of his works. Such a final text did not appear from his pen.” ____________ Fb2 adaptation of a Pdf copy of the book published in 1923, in which the final, now canonical, version of the magnificent illustrations by Alexander Nikolaevich Benois for the poem about the unfortunate Eugene and the St. Petersburg flood was first presented. The quality of illustrations has been preserved whenever possible. The text of the poem in this book is in some places quite different from the version considered to be the classic version (and sounds, perhaps, better). The publication is reproduced verbatim, but for the convenience of the reader it is given in modern transcription and spelling.
