About the book: 1960 / Quiroga Horacio is a Uruguayan writer, author of short stories and novels about the dark, fatal forces of nature and the human psyche, imbued with gloomy fantasy in the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe. His stories about the nature and animals of the jungle are also known, which became popular among children of several generations; they reveal similar features to Kipling's Jungle Book. In the collection "Anaconda" a significant place is occupied by realistic stories and fairy tales about the nature of South America, which the author portrays as a force tragically hostile to man. Of the 39 stories in the collection, most have not been published in our country since then.
