  • MediaDB / «Spanish and Portuguese poets - victims of the Inquisition" Valentin Parnakh: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2012 / In the book of Valentin Parnakh (1891-1951), Russian poet, translator, founder of the Parisian literary group "Chamber of Poets" , included translations of unique documents from the archives of the Spanish Inquisition, discovered by him in Paris (Sorbonne) and in other European libraries and archives and almost unknown to the scientific community. Among them are interrogation protocols, descriptions of auto-da-fé, indictments and verdicts of the “holy” Inquisition. But most of all, as a poet, he was interested in poetic texts created in dungeons, under torture and the constant threat of painful death. Collected bit by bit from “investigative” materials, they resurrect forgotten authors, whose names and works are preserved only in court reports.
