About the book: 1996 / Few people know that back in 1961 we successfully tested the first sample of an anti-missile system from which it could grow a powerful and reliable missile defense system for our entire country. Why, thirty-five years later, we still don’t have it, the general designer of this system, Grigory Vasilyevich Kisunko, said in his memoirs. The son of an “enemy of the people,” but in essence just a worker-machinist, shot in 1938 allegedly for preparing an armed uprising against Soviet power , from a young age he lived, studied, fought and worked under the heavy burden of “exposure”, without losing his dignity, integrity and without sparing his health and strength to create reliable weapons to protect his homeland from nuclear missile attack. From this book the reader learns not only about the difficult fate of a talented scientist and organizer who was strictly classified in the recent past, but also a lot of interesting things about famous and little-known people with whom he worked and met - including in the Kremlin offices - Stalin, Beria, Ryabikov, Vannikov, Kuksenko, Korolev, Ustinov and others who became an integral part of our history.
