About the book: 2018 / Quinn, an assistant at a large law firm, rents an apartment on the outskirts of Chicago with another girl, Esther. One day Esther disappears. In her room, Quinn finds strange letters addressing the addressee “My Love,” as well as a request to change her name, passport photographs, and a psychotherapist’s business card. She hopes that Esther will return, but eventually contacts the police, who begin an investigation. Meanwhile, in a small town on the shores of Lake Michigan, 18-year-old Alex meets a girl in a cafe who makes a strong impression on him. Every day she sits by the window and looks at the house where a local psychotherapist is seeing her... The destinies of all the characters in the novel are intertwined into such a tight knot that it is destined to be cut by a tragedy that will plunge the reader into shock.
