The author talks about where and how latrines were built in different eras and in different countries, until, finally, the water closet was invented in England. Since then, people have continued to experiment with space and material, so that some of the current toilets are miracles of design art. The reader will learn about what difficulties the classics of Russian literature faced in certain circumstances, what happened to the established toilet system in Russia after 1917, and what inscriptions in toilets fell into the category of eternal truths. Of course, the history of toilet paper has not been forgotten either..
