About the book: 1980 / Charles Webster Leadbeater (1854–1934), clergyman of the Church of England, was ordained as a priest in 1879, but 5 years later, without breaking his ties with Christianity, he adopted Buddhism on the island of Ceylon. In the last years of his life in Australia, he took an active part in the creation of the Liberal Catholic Church, of which he remained president-bishop until the end of his days. The most significant event in his life was the receipt of several letters from a high-ranking representative of Tibetan Buddhism, who called himself Kut Hoomi and signed his messages with two initials: “K.H.” Ch. Jinarajadasa (1875–1953), who knew Leadbeater well, comments in the spirit of the ancient interpreters of the Vedas and Upanishads (this is how he explained his purpose) on the most important phrases of the letters, which, in his opinion, require clarification. These commentaries are, in essence, a theosophical mini-encyclopedia. In addition to Mahatma Kut Hoomi, the author of the letters, and his future student, E.P. appears here. Blavatsky, G.S. Olcott and other Theosophists.
