About the book: 1976 / In the difficult year of 1941, when the battle with the Nazis was already underway near Moscow and Leningrad was clamped by a blockade ring, far in the Baltic Sea stood firmly on Gangut heroic garrison. Sailors, warriors and romantics, found somewhere a large key to the fortress gate and hung it on a pine tree above the rock, near the combat post. And so it was: the key to the entrance to the Gulf of Finland was in the hands of the Ganguttsy and they did not let the fascist squadron through to Leningrad. This little story “The Children of Captain Granin” was written by the author based on his novel “The Ganguttsy”, dedicated to the glorious Baltic epic.
