MediaDB / «Toledo is the old capital of Spain" Ksenia Malitskaya: download fb2, read online
About the book: 1962 / On a high plateau with steep cliffs along the edges, Toledo is located - the old capital of Spain, once called “The Crown of Spain and the light of all peace." In the middle of the 16th century, it gave way to Madrid, the new capital of the kingdom. And gradually Toledo plunges into a magical sleep, keeping its original appearance almost untouched. The city is surrounded by the remains of the old city walls with towers and is topped by a diadem of church bell towers reminiscent of Arab minarets. His noble, clearly defined silhouette stands before the viewer against the backdrop of a bright blue sky, the greenish valleys of Vega and gray-violet mountains on the horizon. The color of the landscape is a harmonious whole with the golden-grayish tones of urban buildings in the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. But the imprint of Moorish artistic thought with its love for the richness of ornamentation merges them into a harmonious architectural ensemble.
