About the book: 2000 / This bilingual edition of selected poems by Guillaume Apollinaire is the first such publication of the French poet's poems. Until today, the following individual books by Apollinaire have been published in Russian: Guillaume Apollinaire. Poetry. Translation by M. P. Kudinov. Article and notes by N. I. Balashov. M., 1967 (“Literary monuments”); Guillaume Apollinaire. Selected lyrics. Introductory article, compiled by S.I. Velikovsky. Comments by Yu. A. Ginzburg. Edited translations by M. N. Vaksmacher. M., 1999; Guillaume Apollinaire. Alcohols. Compilation, preface, comments by M. D. Yasnov. St. Petersburg, 1999. A number of translations included in this publication are published for the first time. When preparing comments, French publications were taken into account: Apollinaire. Œuvres poétiques. Texte établi et annoté par Marcel Adéma et Michel Décaudin. Paris, 1956. Bibliothèque de la Pléiade (the link to this edition is abbreviated I-a); Apollinaire. Œuvres en prose complètes. Textes établis, présentés et annotés par Pierre Caizergues et Michel Décaudin. T. I–III. Paris, 1977–1993. Bibliothèque de la Pléiade (I–III); Michel Décaudin commente “Alcools” de Guillaume Apollinaire. Paris, 1993 (A);Guillaume Apollinaire. L'Enchanteur pourrissant. Édition établie, présentée et annotée par Jean Burgos. Paris, 1972 (B). It is known that Apollinaire abandoned punctuation marks in 1913 in preparation for the publication of the book “Alcohols”. In posthumous collections when reprinting early journal publications, punctuation is preserved; we also leave the marks where they are saved in the original.
