About the book: 2004 / The detective novel "The Judge and His Executioner" (1951) formed the basis of the film of the same name, directed by Maximilian Schell, and played one of the roles the author himself. Perhaps The Judge and His Executioner is Dürrenmatt's most Swiss novel.
