About the book: year / Publication prepared by the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Russian Orthodox Church in pursuance of the Determination of the Consecrated Council of Bishops "On issues of internal life and external activity Russian Orthodox Church" dated February 4, 2011. The parish counseling service on the basics of Orthodox doctrine, church life, Orthodox ethics and rules of behavior in the church is currently one of the promising forms of spiritual educational activities in the parish. When compiling the educational and methodological manual “Practical Guide to Parish Counseling”, the experience of advisory services in the parish was used parishes in the St. Petersburg diocese. The manual consists of three parts with appendices. The first two parts contain recommendations for organizing an advisory service in a parish and practical advice for those on duty. The third part presents answers to the most common questions regarding the rules of conduct in church, Orthodox ethics, church life and Orthodox doctrine. The manual is intended for clergy and parish catechists who organize similar services in their parishes, those on duty at the parish counseling service and other parish employees with whom people who come to church with little church contact most frequently.
